Yes. Senior dogs benefit from the thick, supportive foam that cushions bone pressure points such as elbows and hips. The flat-mat design provides a stable surface for dogs with weak joints to stand up without slipping, unlike overly plush or unstable beds. Pillow Edge option provide a cushion if they like to rest their head.

You should measure the internal length and width of your wire crate, rather than the outer frame, to ensure the mat sits perfectly flat without curling. Our mats are designed to fit standard Australian crate sizes; however, if your crate is up to 5cm smaller than the mat, the memory foam can be compressed for a snug fit. If the difference is greater than 5cm, we recommend choosing the next size down to prevent bunching. When in doubt we discuss your unique sizing situation and provide recommendation via chat or email.

The plastic tray becomes redundant once the Kangaroo Crate Mat is installed. By removing the hard tray and attaching the mat directly to the wire base using our integrated hooks and Velcro straps, you provide a more stable, comfortable environment that won't slide or rattle.

While no fabric bed is 100% "indestructible" against determined chewers, our mat is engineered for high durability using RipStop™ Defender fabric. This material is woven with reinforced yarns to prevent small punctures from spreading into large tears, and an additional woven layer provides extra strength against scratching and digging. The integrated hooks and straps helps to secure the mat to crate which deters dog from pulling the mat out or grabbing the corners.

The Kangaroo Crate Mat features double waterproof protection: a waterproof outer cover and a secondary waterproof taffeta inner liner to shield the foam core from liquids, odors, and mold. The outer cover is easily removable via YKK brand zippers and is machine washable on a gentle cycle. We recommend air drying the cover in the shade to maintain the integrity of the fabric.

Yes. The mat is designed for all-season utility. It is compatible with our interchangeable seasonal covers and every cover comes with inner pocket for cooling mat inserts, allowing you to regulate your dog's temperature during summers or insulate them against cold floors during winters.
